Cercedilla is a welcoming mountain village nestled within the pine-covered Fuenfría Valley of Spain's Sierra de Guadarrama. At an elevation of approximately 1,200 meters (3,937 feet), it has long been a destination for those seeking the restorative beauty of the mountains. Surrounded by the granite peaks of the Sierra—including the iconic Siete Picos—Cercedilla offers an extensive network of walking and hiking trails that begin just beyond the village, inviting exploration through forests, mountain streams, and breathtaking overlooks. Rich in history, local traditions, and a deep connection to the natural landscape, it is a place where the pace of life naturally begins to slow.
The Sierra de Guadarrama invites a different way of being—one shaped by movement, presence, and the quiet wisdom of the natural world. Whether hiking ancient mountain paths, cycling the historic road to Segovia, gathering around the table to share Mediterranean meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients, or connecting with fellow women through yoga, meditation, and sangha, each experience becomes an opportunity to cultivate greater awareness and intention. Here, the mountains offer more than beautiful scenery—they provide space to reflect, reconnect with what is unfolding in your life, and discover a rhythm that supports the season ahead.
If mountain trails, intentional practice, and the quiet strength of nature call to you, this women’s yoga lifestyle retreat in Cercedilla, Spain, offers space to step into your next season with clarity and purpose. Nestled within the pine-covered Fuenfría Valley in the Sierra de Guadarrama, our women’s retreat welcomes you to a rustic mountain setting surrounded by granite peaks, forest paths, and the iconic Siete Picos.
Designed for women seeking a more intentional rhythm of life, this experience weaves together daily yoga and meditation, sangha sessions, guided hiking, Mediterranean meals, creative traditions, and meaningful connection. Whether you are navigating transition, seeking steadier practices, or simply ready for time in nature, you’ll be supported by the restorative rhythm of the Sierra and the shared experience of women walking this season together.
Here, practice meets the mountain path.
Our home for the week is a long-established mountain retreat center where simplicity, creativity, and community take center stage. For more than three decades, it has welcomed yoga practitioners, artists, craftspeople, and seekers from around the world—creating a space that feels warm, lived-in, and rich with stories rather than polished luxury.
The retreat center offers comfortable shared accommodations with four bedrooms, shared bath facilities, a light-filled yoga studio with skylights, inviting gathering spaces, and a family-style dining room where conversations naturally linger over Mediterranean meals. A cozy living room provides space to read, reflect, or connect with fellow travelers, while the surrounding mountains invite you outdoors throughout the day.
This is not a retreat defined by luxury accommodations or modern design. It is a place where authentic connection, shared experiences, and the energy cultivated through decades of practice create an atmosphere that is difficult to describe—and unforgettable to experience.
Each morning begins with yoga, meditation, and shared sangha in the retreat center’s light-filled studio, where skylights, mountain air, and the quiet presence of the surrounding pines set the tone for the day. Designed for women with an established yoga practice, each session is accessible but intentional—supporting transition through the grounding qualities of earth, the clarity of breath, and the steady inner fire of tapas.
Afterward, gather around the family table for Mediterranean meals prepared with locally sourced ingredients that reflect the flavors of the Sierra de Guadarrama. Throughout the retreat, scheduled guided hikes, an e-bike excursion along the historic road to Segovia, a wool-felting workshop, time in Cercedilla, and an evening with Spanish wines offer meaningful ways to experience the region.
Here, tapas becomes both practice and pleasure—the inner discipline that supports intentional living, and the shared joy of food, conversation, and community.
A Note from Wendy
If you've found yourself reading this far, perhaps something about the mountains is already calling to you.
Over the years, I've come to believe that some of life's most meaningful transitions aren't navigated by finding all the answers. They're supported by creating space to listen more closely—to ourselves, to nature, and to the quiet wisdom that emerges through consistent practice and meaningful connection.
It is my intention that this retreat offers that space.
As the days unfold, conversations deepen, mountain trails become familiar, and shared meals give way to lasting friendships. The rhythm of daily practice, time in nature, and the quiet strength of the Sierra create opportunities for reflection, resilience, and the confidence to embrace life's next season with greater intention.
It is my hope that you return home with more than memories. I hope you carry forward greater clarity, renewed purpose, and practices that continue to support a life of intention long after your time in the Sierra de Guadarrama has come to an end.
I would be honored to share this experience with you.
